If you’re a school looking for an experienced teacher to work with pupils on environmental, bushcraft and outdoor topics, BEES can help!

We also deliver bespoke forest schools, natural play, environmental learning and team-building activities for organisations, community groups and businesses.
 
Director Pete Carthy is a qualified primary teacher with ten years’ cross-curricular experience in Scottish Borders, Edinburgh, East Lothian and Northumberland schools.

He works with education departments in Scottish Borders, East Lothian and Northumberland to deliver bespoke projects and workshops on eco and outdoor themes, including:

• eco-schools core topics, including energy, waste & recycling
• helping schools plan, install and run an organic vegetable garden
• using the outdoor classroom to teach any aspect of the curriculum
• developing school grounds
• training pupils as wildlife rangers to manage and maintain school grounds
• themed school weeks (National Science & Engineering Week, Wildlife Week)
• advice on where to access funding for specific projects
• forest schools
• John Muir Awards
• school development plans for any of the above
• staff CPD/CAT sessions on any of the above

Pete Carthy is a registered supply teacher (primary) with Scottish Borders, East Lothian, and North Northumberland councils, and can offer these activities through supply, or at an hourly rate of £30.
